Social Task
Alfred Adler said that each individual needs to find a place among others that allows them to cooperate. The task is learning to get along with others and is essentially one’s interpersonal relations. People are not strong enough to live alone without the support of others so therefore must learn how to adjust socially and to get along with one another. Adler stressed that belonging and fitting in with others is a basic need. We depend upon the good will of others for our very existence.
