Belonging Starts in the Family, with Jody Malterre. Moderated by Marina Bluvshtein.
A child’s healthy mental development is rooted in their sense of belonging in the family. Children who know they belong will, in turn, recognize the responsibilities of what it means to belong to a group. A sense of belonging blooms into a strong desire for social interest. Positive Discipline parenting classes offer experiential activities for parents to practice strategies they can use in the home to foster belonging and social interest. This short workshop included a few examples of these activities.
