Betty Lou Bettner
Dr. Bettner has been in private practice for over 30 years working with individuals, couples, teenagers, children, social workers, educators, counselors, and therapists.
She has given talks, courses, and workshops for thousands of professionals, parent groups, educational in-service training, couples, and the workplace, She trains graduate students to facilitate parent education groups in schools and communities, as well as advanced training in Adlerian psychology.
She was the Director of the Family Education Center for the Springfield School District in Springfield, PA for 25 years. She developed and taught parenting programs for Community College of Philadelphia, Neumann University, and Holy Family University. These programs were for two-parent families, single parents, foster parents, and for adults who work with children. The courses were designed to help adults understand behavior, learn the art of encouragement, improve communication, and deal effectively with conflicts within homes, classrooms, at work, and in groups.
She is a contributing Column Editor for the Journal of Individual Psychology (1999 to present) and has served on the staff of the International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes since 1990.
She is a member of the American Counseling Association, The North American Society of Adlerian Psychology, and The International Association of Marriage and Family Counseling.
